Dr. Greg McDaniel has been practicing veterinary medicine in Central Indiana since 1994. He developed his love for animals growing up in Rockford, Illinois and went on to obtain his degree in veterinary medicine at the University of Illinois. Dr. McDaniel began his career at Village Park Animal Hospital in Carmel,IN. Four years later he moved on to Northwood Veterinary Hospital in Anderson,IN where he spent 10 years refining his skills in surgery,internal medicine and emergency practice.
Dr. McDaniel currently lives in Noblesville with his wife Sara (also a veterinarian) and their three children Samuel, Megan, and Ben. They share their home with a golden retriever Josie and two cats George and Momma Sophie. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends as well as bicycling, fishing,kayaking and watching sports.
Dr. Bassett is a lifelong resident of Central Indiana. He grew up in Anderson then attended Purdue University. He graduated from Purdue’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. After graduation, Dr. Bassett practiced in Eastern Iowa and worked on many different kinds of animals (dogs, cats, cattle, pigs, horses, sheep, etc.). In 1991, he returned to Indianapolis and began a career in emergency practice that continues to this day. He was Manager of the Animal Emergency Clinic in Castleton from 1995-1998 and Director of the Northwood Veterinary Emergency Practice in Anderson from 1998 -2002, where he continues to work part-time as a staff veterinarian. Since starting the Hazel Dell Animal Hospital with Dr. McDaniel in 2002, Dr. Bassett has worked primarily in general practice, providing medical and surgical care to dogs and cats and other assorted small furry creatures.
Dr. Bassett is a resident of Carmel, where he lives with his wife, three children, dogs Midge and Kirby, cats Morton and Lovey and Dwight, and guinea pigs Sammy and Cocoa. He has many interests and pursuits, including fitness, music, reading, and travel. Most of all, he enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and extended family.
Chrissy has been with the HDAH team since May of 2005. She has recently become a registered technician through Purdue University and also has an Associate of Science degree. She came to Hazel Dell with many years of technical experience and knowledge and has been a great asset to us here. Her furry and feathered family consists of Belle a 12 year old Himalayan, Topaz a 10 year old blue point Siamese, Gemini a 6 year old long haired Calico, Godiva an 8 year old torti point Siamese and Kiwi an 11 year old talking Quaker parrot. Chrissy and her husband are happily expecting their first child in March.
Cindy has been with HDAH from the grand opening. She plays an intricate role in the daily operations of Hazel Dell and has brought with her many years of management experience. She too has a large furry family. Her cats consist of Jabber, Winston, and Ziggy followed by Jack, Dazee, & Maggie the dogs. Cindy even has some Llamas, Latte and China and horses Stretch, Sassy, Holiday, & Zanzabar. Cindy can be found frequenting the lobby passing out kisses and treats to our patients.
Dee Ann has been part of the Hazel Dell for the last 5 years. Dee Ann is usually the person that will greet you upon your arrival with a warm smile. She is an appointment making, information giving, and question answering extraordinaire. She loves to spend time with her pets Harley the Beagle, Nico the Golden Retriever, Rocco the Shepard/Huskey mix, and Bob the cat. Dee Ann also has 2 horses Blondie a 29 year old Quarter horse and Charlie a 26-year-old Paint horse.
Danielle is one of the newest registered technicians to join our team. She is a graduate of the Veterinary Technology Program at Northern Virginia Community College. She has also studied history and sociology at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She is proudly owned by her 2 dogs, Nico and Odie and her 4 cats; Batale, Bella, Bonzai, and Snickers. Danielle has a passion for riding horses in her spare time.
Christy has been a part of HDAH since 2007. She has a bachelor’s degree in Science from the University of South Florida and has been involved in Veterinary Medicine for close to 19 years. She loves her 2 senior citizen cats, Spike and Einstein. Christy is excited to be getting married January 2011 in Jamaica.
